We at IDSC offer a detailed, in-depth, easily accessible and standardized information service on an ever growing number of datasets. Our current areas are:
• employment and wages
• education and training
• demographics and migration
The service is especially helpful for comparative research. Some of the most important features of the documentation at the IDSC are:
• DDI based: all xml files are publicly available.
• indexed and easily accessible HTML presentations
• each dataset has a publicly available PDF book.
• hierarchical controlled vocabulary thesaurus (loosely based on HASSET)
The web based metadata maybe found here. For stata users you can search the metadata using our metadata module. Just install it from within stata by running: . ssc install metadata
