GESIS Workshop The Micro-census 2008 as a Data Source for the Empirical Social and Economic Research: Introduction to Data Processing, Mannheim
The Workshop is going to take place in Mannheim on October 7-8, 2010.
The Scientific Use File of the micro-census 2008 is expected to become accessible for research this summer. In addition to the regularly asked questions the following issues are included: the Ad-hoc module “Migration and Labor Market” of the EU-Labor Force Survey, data on the occupation and education commuters and for the first time data on the number of the children born.
The Workshop provides fundamental knowledge necessary for working with the data as well as the overview of the new analysis possibilities. The lectures of the first day contain concept, data collection design and the main topics of the micro-census. On the second day of the workshop the selected topics will be deepened by means of practical exercises with the data. (As the number of participants in the workshop is limited, it is recommended to register beforehand; please check at http://www.gesis.org/fileadmin/upload/dienstleistung/veranstaltungen_fortbildungen/workshops/WS_10_2010.pdf)
The workshop is conducted in cooperation with the Federal Statistical Office, the Information and Technology North Rhine-Westphalia and the Research Data Center of the Statistic National Offices (location Duesseldorf).
